communications / noun 5 science and practice of transmitting information.
The definition says it, it’s a science and it’s a practice, and in the competitive world, whoever does it best is most likely to be more successful, in many ways. When we say the best, we mean a number of things. We mean cost efficiency, productivity, synergy, intelligence and ultimately we mean communicating with clients and colleagues in the way that makes most sense to them.
At the centre of the communications solutions we provide is the telephone. It has many uses, its no longer just a telephone and it doesn’t have to be a physical object on the desk, it can be a softphone on the desktop using point and click to operate it. Powering that telephone is a telephone system which nowadays is almost certain to be a converged system supporting both the voice and data traffic.
There are some natural stages in a business where a full rip and replace of existing systems is a given. Sometimes, the return on investment projections make it a compelling business case regardless of how old the existing systems are. Expansion and a need to improve the way the business communicates with all stakeholders is also a driver for change. Regardless of the reason to change, the appliance of science and the practice of transmitting information has just become quicker, more efficient and more cost effective.
